About the Artist

Innishannon born and based artist, Mary Nolan O’Brien draws her inspiration from the beauty around her.

She captures on canvas the things she loves most in nature. Trees, seas, landscapes. Living on the edge of Dromkeen Wood, just off the Wild Atlantic Way, she doesn’t have to go far for inspiration. Her main medium is oil on Canvas and timber.  She also produces inspiring work in pastel and watercolour. The use of the palette knife in her oils give a strong bold presence to her paintings. Her work exudes light and freedom, as well as a sense of place.

She loves to paint what inspires her. She has painted from an early age, but it was in 2007 she achieved her lifelong dream to become a full time artist and open Mulberry Studio at her home in Innishannon.

She loves to share her passion to paint with others. Her paintings hang in private collections in Ireland, the UK, USA and Canada. Many of her most sought after works are produced in limited edition prints.
